Soho Session
Sunday 20th SeptemberGunpowder Soho launches the Soho Sessions, a new programme of Sunday guest chef events celebrating the food, music, people and stories of South Asian London.
Taking place once a month throughout the autumn, each edition will bring the Gunpowder team together with a guest chef for a one-day-only menu, combining dishes from both kitchens and creating an opportunity for collaboration between some of London’s most exciting South Asian cooks.
For its inaugural series, Gunpowder has chosen to celebrate three South Asian women who call London home: Ruhi Amin and Simar Deol of Firangi, Rezma Rahman founder of Roti Mami, and Sohini Banerjee founder of Smoke & Lime. Each brings a distinctly different perspective to South Asian food and their own relationship with the flavours, traditions and cultures that have shaped their cooking. Together, they represent food that feels distinctly London, rooted in heritage but constantly evolving through the people, neighbourhoods and communities that make up the city.
